Efferent Audio
Chicago-based startup, Efferent Audio, develops software that helps people find the sound they want. Audio waves were used as counters in the letterforms of the logo. By hinting at an infinity symbol within the mark, I was able to loop the transition of audio from ear to brain, overall creating a musical mesh between science and sound.

Efferent Audio created SmartEQ, an equalizer plug-in for GarageBand. By rating the numbered dots in the playing field according to what the user thinks sounds good or bad, the plug-in can determine what EQ settings are optimal for the user. It was inspired by retro sound equipment, but designed with a modern, techie twist. As part of Quite Strong, I collaborated on this interface project with Elaine Chernov.
